When the harvest comes: introducing The Lavender Quill PLUS a giveaway for families who love goodness, beauty, and books
When the Harvest comes, rejoice.
Today I want to share two very exciting things. For whom are they exciting? you might be asking.
Well, the answer is that they are exciting for our family AND exciting for all the intelligent souls reading this newsletter who meeting certain strict criteria, listed as follows:
You know children ages 5-12 (you may even have given birth to some of these children).
You love beautiful stories, beautiful melodies, beautiful poetry, and beautiful souls who create such things.
You want all the children you know to imbibe the elements in criterion #2 from infancy onward.
You are tired of having to filter through everything that comes into your inbox, mailbox, and screen, when all you really want is the ability to implicitly trust the source.
You are excited to support a small business run by an almost-graduated homeschooler.
You want to put your money where your mouth is; instead of bemoaning the scads of woke-y trash available on the feature shelves of the public library and at the bookstore, you are determined to invest in the magical endeavor of a young lady who is determined to create light and beauty wherever she goes.
For those of you who can rightly identify with some or all of the above, I have the perfect subscription for you!
Introducing The Lavender Quill, along with its proprietor, 17-year-old author, creator, singer/songwriter, fairytale expert, and eldest daughter extraordinaire, Madeleine Burr.
Here is what you need to know about Madeleine:
She emanates gentleness and humility, and has the most innately self-sacrificial disposition I have ever encountered.
She has been obsessed with the imagination, stories, and words since she was 3 years old.
She has been pouring into younger children for many years now - by teaching fairytale camps, teaching poetry, babysitting and nannying, and just generally speaking being the most reliable, steadfast old soul you can imagine.
She never seeks the limelight but always views everything she is called to do as an obedient stewardship from the Lord. This means when Madeleine is involved, there are no competing egos but only a sacrificial attitude devoted to creating the best show/product/endeavor possible, no matter who gets the credit.
As we love to say in our house, everyone needs more Madeleine in their life.
In light of that, please visit The Lavender Quill and check out the Subscription page.

A giveaway for mothers who love goodness and look far and wide to find it for their families.
To honor this Kingdom-advancing, superlative endeavor, I am personally giving away TWO 1-year subscriptions to The Lavender Quill. In other words, I will pay my own daughter for all 12 months of your family’s subscription — that’s how much I want to get these goodness-laden gems into your mailbox for 12 consecutive months. After all, if I operate a website called TruthBeautyGoodness and send out a newsletter entitled An Anthology of Truth, Beauty & Goodness, curse be upon me if I don’t put my own money where my mouth is!
How to enter the giveaway:
Email/Text/Message 5 moms who will want to know about this amazing new mini—Madeleine-magazine, because they take the stewarding of their children’s souls seriously.
Email me [allison [at] truthbeautygoodness.net] with the Subject Line: The Lavender Quill Giveaway, with a quick line to tell me you have done your part in spreading the word to 5 families. (This will be the honor system!)
On May 20th, I will randomly select 2 winners who will then be signed up to receive a year of complimentary subscriptions to The Lavender Quill. Just to be clear: this isn’t Madeleine giving away free copies; this is me paying for the subscription because that’s how much I believe in this endeavor. Winners will be notified by May 21st.
I hope to see my inbox overflowing with moms wanting to invest in the Kingdom in an affordable, accessible, God-honoring way ~ that also happens to represent a rollickin’ good time for every child in the home!
Until next time,
Allison
